About This Coffee:
The Pacamara varietal was creation of the Salvadorian Institute for Coffee Research in 1958, subsequently becoming popular due to its hearty characteristics, large bean size and excellent flavor. It is a hybrid of the Pacas and Maragogipe variety. Maragogipe is generally known as the "elephant bean" due to its enormous size.
This particular coffee comes to us from Jose Armando Portillo, an extraordinary coffee grower who says coffee is "in his blood". Jose has been to the Cup of Excellence competition several times and placed 3rd in 2003.
*Our preferred brewing method for this coffee is Chemex with a 1:15 coffee to water ratio
